NHS Community Pharmacy Prescribing: Clinical support to deliver NHS services

Community pharmacy prescribing is entering an exciting new phase. From autumn 2026, prescribing will be enabled in some NHS community pharmacy services in England, expanding Pharmacy First, supporting prescribing within the Pharmacy Contraception Service and opening up new opportunities through prescription management.

Join us to explore how the new arrangements will work in practice. We will walk you through the NHS guidance that is available, including prescribing specification, updates to existing Pharmacy First (PF) and Contraception specifications,  the new 5 PF pathways and clinical guidance that will underpin all prescribing. We will also discuss clinical considerations needed to deliver safe, effective, high-quality patient care. In addition, we will highlight the training and learning resources available to support you in getting ready for this next phase of community pharmacy practice.
