NHS England Digital Medicines Programme - Supplier Webinar

Following the success of the previous First of Type schemes run by the NHS England Digital Medicines Programme (NHS Futures login required), the team is planning to launch a further incentivisation scheme in the financial year 2026/27.

Feedback from NHS trusts has emphasised that early notification of the scheme’s launch will support trusts in engaging with relevant stakeholders, enabling better preparation of applications. So, although final budgets are pending approval, we would like to announce the intention to introduce a new scheme centred on new, scalable technical capability within the following categories:

1. EPR / ePMA Systems: Access structured GP medicines via GP Connect
2. Closed Loop Administration
   • Prescribing System (EPR/ePMA to ADC)
   • EPR / ePMA to stock control
   • Stock control to ADC

The ‘First of Type’ scheme will be open to NHS trusts who partner with a supplier(s) and collaborate with fast follower trusts. We expect to be able to announce full details, including how to apply, during May 2026.

What will be covered in the session

The upcoming webinar will deliver an overview of previous schemes, outline the proposed scope and exclusions for the new scheme, and present indicative timelines.

Who should attend?

System suppliers who are currently providing, or developing, direct care, patient focussed systems in Secondary Care setting and are relevant to the proposed categories outlined above.
