Linking with the 70th birthday of the National Health Service, this event brings colleagues together to celebrate and learn from safeguarding activities which have been undertaken in the region and also horizon scan future issues that may impact on our joint safeguarding agenda.

The aim of the event is to promote the importance of safeguarding and the ethos to “be the one that makes the difference” for our patients and populations.

Speakers and presentations will include: Sir Alan Wood CBE on Safeguarding Reforms,  Councillor Sara Rowbotham who helped highlight the Rochdale child sexual abuse grooming gang, Prevent—exploring radicalisation and counter terrorism, The Dark Net with Alex Krasodomski-Jones, Social Media and Impacts on Safeguarding with Matt Tapp and a theatre performance—”Out in the Counties” from Alter Ego on gangs and county lines.
