NHS England is committed to ‘high quality care for all, now and for future generations’. This cannot be delivered without taking action to promote equality and reduce health inequalities for all the communities we serve. Alongside this values-based commitment, we have legal duties to promote equality, involve and consult with the public, and to reduce health inequalities, as required by the Equality Act 2010 and the Health and Social Care Act 2012 which amended the NHS Act 2006.

The session will support you to:

  • Improve your capability and confidence in understanding the Equality and Health Inequalities (EHI) implications for your work;
  • Meet the diverse needs of our patients, communities and populations;
  • Ensure we are working to address the health needs of inclusion health groups, facing the starkest of inequalities in access and outcomes to good healthcare; and
  • Meet our ethical and legal duties around promoting equality and tackling health inequalities and managing any potential risks for the organisation.

Who is this programme for?

This one day training programme is for all NHS England staff across all functions and directorates.
