In July 2025, the Workforce Design for Productivity team launched a new national resource showcasing innovative workforce transformation initiatives that are delivering measurable improvements in productivity.

This growing collection of case studies is available here on NHS Futures, and features examples from provider organisations across England. Each highlights new ways of working, including the introduction of new roles, redesigned care models, enhanced use of digital technologies, and approaches to delivering care closer to home.

To support the spread and adoption of these innovations, we are hosting a short lunchtime webinar series which began in September 2025. Each 60-minute session  features contributors from the case studies, sharing their experiences, challenges, impact, outcomes, and key learnings. The series aims to support informed local decision-making and encourage wider uptake of effective workforce models.

The third and final webinar in the series is scheduled for 22 January 2026 and will focus on New Roles and Flexible Workforce and Deployment, with a presentation from NHS Greater Manchester around their work on improving integrated working in community services to increase working capacity, and from The Dudley Group about the introduction of the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in Theatres to support staff.
