The Role of the VCSE in Social Prescribing

This is a free event organised by The North East & North Cumbria Regional Social Prescribing Network, working with National Voices aims to explore the role of the VCSE in developing and delivering social prescribing and to gather the insight and experiences of the VCSE sector on social prescribing to inform a larger scale national consultation on priorities and actions for social prescribing.  

The event will include, national and regional personalised care and social prescribing updates, sharing of best practice and workshop sessions focused on how social prescribing can help reduce health inequalities and approaches to developing partnership working with Primary Care Networks. There will be a networking lunch that will provide the opportunity to meet other network members. 

Who should attend?

The event will be of particular interest to the VCSE sector involved in connecting people to social prescribing, delivering social prescribing activities or infrastructure organisations building and supporting community activity and connection.  It will also be of interest to local commissioners and stakeholder involved in designing and delivering shared social prescribing plans. 

What will you gain from attending?

• You will be able to hear about regional and national developments and the future for social prescribing
• Better understanding of how social prescribing can contribute to reducing health inequalities
• Develop ideas for partnership working including approaches to engage with primary care networks
• Participate in interactive workshops to share your experiences, hopes and fears  and feed into the national VCSE engagement project undertaken by National Voices
• Share good practice and generate new ideas
• Networking lunch and opportunity to make new contacts and share learning.
