This event is for anyone who has an interest in work to improve patient and carer experience and also those with an interest in video and digital solutions. Welcomed by patients, this easy to replicate programme reduces unnecessary follow-up appointments and minimises pressure from unscheduled GP or emergency visits, freeing up valuable clinical time and improving patient experience. HaPPI is a patient communication project transforming post-operative follow-up care by sending a digital personalised video message to patients on the day of their procedure.
Recognising that patients often struggle to retain information after day surgical procedures, the surgeon records details about their day case surgery which can be securely stored in the patient’s health record to access at their convenience via the Patient Engagement Portal. Welcomed by patients, this easy to replicate programme reduces unnecessary follow-up appointments and minimises pressure from unscheduled GP or emergency visits, freeing up valuable clinical time and improving patient experience.
