North Workforce Optimisation Network Event - 11 October 12:30 - 14:00 (virtual via MS Teams)

This is a joint event for colleagues within the North West and North East & Yorkshire regions.

Improving productivity is a huge priority throughout the NHS with the drive to reduce backlogs and deliver more activity within tight financial constraints.  This is clear from the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan where ambitions to improve productivity by between 1.5 and 2% have been modelled against our future workforce needs.  The plan is clear that recovering productivity is categorically not about staff working harder and acknowledges the incredible effort in enormously challenging circumstances.

To enable us to become more productive, we need to optimise the workforce we have more effectively which might mean changing the way we do things.  Enabling more supportive and inclusive cultures so people stay with us and are motivated when they are here, and making sure people are able to use their best skills and competencies to provide the best care for our patients and citizens.

The aim of this network is to provide a space to share good practice, update you on things that are happening regionally and nationally, and give you an opportunity to make connections across our regions.  As this is our first one we will also be asking you what you are looking for from the network to plan for future events.

The network is aimed at ICB and provider workforce / HR professionals, transformation leads and anyone else who has an interest in workforce productivity.  If you have something you want to share to contribute to a future event please let us know.
