OoAP Collaborative Workshop (2)

NHS Improvement and NHS England jointly held an Out of Area Placements (OoAPs) service improvement event in Leicester on 19 June 2018, where we learnt about the good practice and also the challenges in reducing inappropriate OoAPs. Based upon the feedback from this event and to support systems in addressing these challenges, we have developed a new Midlands and East OoAPs improvement collaborative, with the aim of facilitating sustainable improvement across all M&E mental health providers and commissioners. The collaborative is expected to run for nine months and will be supported by national and local clinical and quality improvement experts who will share their experiences and expertise through a series of networking events.  The first workshop was held on the 20 November and this is the second workshop, to be held on 15 January 2019.

Strong executive level support will be a pre-requisite for participation in OoAPs improvement collaborative.  We are inviting colleagues responsible for successful reduction in OoAPs to participate in this improvement collaborative and register for this event.
