Optimising the Blood Culture Pathway: Audit Insights and Regional Success Stories

The AMR Diagnostic Programme Team, along with colleagues from NHS England Midlands, will share key learnings on Optimising the Blood Culture Pathway. This webinar will highlight the importance of audit and review of key performance indicators to enable accurate diagnosis of bloodstream infections, target appropriate antimicrobial therapy, and improve patient outcomes.

Audience: This webinar is ideal for all NHS staff involved in the blood culture pathway process. (Doctors, Healthcare professionals working in secondary care, Laboratory staff, Microbiologists, Nurses, Porters, Phlebotomists and Regional colleagues including healthcare scientists)

Registration:  Opens 09:00am on Tuesday 23rd September and closes at mid-day on Thursday 20th November, 2025.   The joining link will be sent to all NHS colleagues who have registered on Friday 21st November.  Please ensure you protect the time in your calendar.

PHOTOS:  Supporting education on the science of antimicrobial resistance and diagnostics is key to building the expertise future generations need and the diagnostics of the future. Victoria Chalker, Deputy Chief Scientific Officer recently visited trainee scientists working on finding bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics in patients who have had blood cultures taken.
