Physical Health Monitoring for Eating Disorders

26 January 2022 3:00pm – 5:00pmGMT (+00:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

The South West Mental Health Team invites you to a virtual ‘Physical Health Monitoring for Eating Disorders’ seminar on 26th January 2022 from 3-5pm via Teams.

Following recent work mapping out current provision and service delivery, we have found that there is variation in provision of physical health monitoring across the region. Having clear arrangements for medical monitoring in partnership with primary care to manage the physical health needs of people with eating disorders is one of the priorities for adult eating disorder transformation as an element of the wider adults community mental health transformation programme. We anticipate the seminar on 26th January being a first step to develop the thinking and planning for physical health monitoring and an opportunity to bring together a range of clinicians from both primary and secondary care.

Dr Emma Tiffin, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough STP Clinical MH Lead, will be presenting their Eating Disorder Exemplar Project and engagement with primary care to deliver physical health monitoring ‘A seamless system delivering accessible evidence-based services, removing referrals and thresholds, ensuring early intervention, integrated working and robust physical heath monitoring’.

As part of the agenda, there will be a panel discussion with Primary Care Leads including Dr Killick a GP in Swindon (TBC).
