Webinar: Reducing prescribing of Watch and Reserve antibiotics in hospitals – lessons learned from real-world practice

Join us for this 60 minute webinar designed for colleagues in Acute Provider Trusts who are working to improve their prescribing of Watch and Reserve (WaRe) antibiotics—or those who are simply interested in learning more about the WaRe Project.

The NHS Standard Contract for 2023-24 included a target for acute hospital Trusts to reduce prescribing of “Watch” and “Reserve” antibiotics by 10% (from a 2017 baseline).  

Through continued engagement with trusts the Antimicrobial Prescribing and Medicines Optimisation (APMO) team identified wide variation in performance and in this webinar, we’ll share insights from the mixed methods evaluation, including qualitative interview analysis. You’ll hear about the practical lessons learned, strategies that have shown promise, and key interventions to support reducing Watch and Reserve antibiotic use in hospitals.
