Sharing and Learning from Best Practice in LGBT Health

We are delighted to invite you to our national learning event taking place in Manchester, to share best practice in reducing health inequalities for LGBT people across the NHS, social care and voluntary sector. We will be joined by Dr Michael Brady, National Advisor for LGBT Health, Manchester NHS Foundation Trust, and the LGBT Foundation, and a number of other professionals and organisations working in LGBT health. Participants will take away practical solutions to addressing LGBT health inequalities locally and there will be opportunities for networking.

Confirmed agenda will be circulated to attendees closer to the time, with presentations and workshops to include:

• Key data and research relating to LGBT health inequalities
• Manchester NHS Foundation Trust’s Trans Patient Care Policy consultation
• Transgender patient care services and practices
• LGBT Foundation’s ‘Pride in Practice’ project
• Sexual Orientation and Inclusive Gender Monitoring
• Caring for older LGBT people
• Issues affecting LGBT children and young people
• Cancer care for LGBT individuals
• Personalised care and LGBT communities

This event is open to professionals across the health, social care and VCSE sectors with a responsibility for addressing LGBT health inequalities – including NHS trusts, primary care, commissioners, and policy makers, as well as patients, parents and carers. Up to two places may be booked per organisation – additional places will be opened up depending on availability. You must be registered in order to attend.

Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please inform us of any accessibility requirements upon signing up. 

Event places are subject to availability and you will be emailed confirmation of your place and workshop sessions (again dependent on availability of workshop spaces) closer to the date.
