Single Point of Access (SPoA) Job Planning Guidance webinar

29 October 2026 12:00pm – 1:00pmGMT (+00:00)
Virtual (MS Teams)

As part of NHS England’s work to support consultants and SAS doctors with job planning and improve service delivery, we are hosting a launch webinar for the newly published Single Point of Access (SPoA) Job Planning Guidance.

The elective care priorities set out in the Medium-Term Planning Framework call for Advice & Guidance (A&G) and elective care referrals to flow through a unified digital Elective SPoA for specialist review. To ensure this crucial activity is resourced sustainably—rather than becoming uncounted, additional workload—SPoA activity must be clearly reflected within service-level activity plans and individual medical job plans.

This guidance aims to support providers and systems to plan and embed SPoA activity into job plans safely and sustainably.

By attending this kick-off session, you will hear from the national team about the vision, scope and core principles of the guidance. You will also have the opportunity to put your questions and comments directly to our national team and a panel of provider colleagues and clinical experts who helped develop the guidance.

Who should attend? We welcome all NHS staff involved in medical job planning, including Medical Directors, Clinical Directors, Service/Operations Managers, Medical Workforce/HR leads, Consultants, SAS doctors, and system leads.
