The Benefits of Volunteers in Hospitals - Patient Flow and Discharge
A North East and Yorkshire Region Experience of Care, Urgent & Emergency Care and Workforce Lunch & Learn
We are planning a series of free Volunteer-focussed lunch and learn sessions, where we will highlight the latest national guidance whilst also showcasing examples of excellence in practice from across our region. Our inaugural event will focus on ways in which volunteers can support hospitals to support patient flow and discharge but ultimately improving patient and carer experience.
This webinar is for anyone with an interest in actions to improve patient and carer experience and for those who work in hospital settings and wish to know more about teams who are working successfully across the Region with volunteers.
Please note that the link for the session will be sent out on the 14th of October 2025 - we suggest marking the event in your calendar using the function above.
Led by Catherine Huby - NHS England North East and Yorkshire Discharge Lead and Mike Edmondson from the Region's ICS Workforce Transformation Team the session will highlight the benefits that volunteers can bring to a variety of hospital settings and will be an opportunity to hear from a range of providers on the positive impact of working with volunteers.
