The Launch of the New Outpatient Transformation Benefits Calculator and Planning Tool
To support trusts and systems to understand the benefits of outpatient transformation, the national outpatient analytics team have developed two interactive tools:
The benefits calculator which illustrates quantifiable outcomes, such as patient time saved, associated with avoiding unnecessary face to face appointments. The tool is pre-populated at a system and trust level, allowing you to view and amend any assumptions used to calculate the benefits. This data is then presented as a ‘benefits wheel’ infographic which can be used to engage with your local stakeholders.
The planning tool which measures avoided outpatient activity by using personalised follow-up, referral optimisation and virtual consultations for patients. Nationally available data, and your own local information, is used to highlight achievements to date and projections for the remainder of the year. It will also help identify any transformation interventions that could be used to close the gap between actual and forecasted activity.
During this webinar the outpatient analytics team will explain in more detail why the tools are important and how to get the best out of them. The webinar is suitable for anyone working on outpatient transformation, this includes but is not limited to, outpatient leads in trusts, CCG’s, ICS's, provider managers and system finance colleagues.
You can now get familiar with both interactive tools on the Outpatient Transformation - Elective Care Community of Practice on the FutureNHS Collaboration Platform.
We look forward to you joining us.
