In line with the Government commitment and ambition to continue expanding Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) to 100% of schools and colleges in England by 2029, we invite you to help us to strengthen how education settings and MHST’s work together to support children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

MHSTs are purposefully designed and trained to work with education settings by supporting delivery of the Whole School and College Approach, providing advice and guidance, and supporting individual pupils and learners with common mental health and emotional wellbeing needs.

This online interactive session, hosted by the Department for Education and NHS England, will bring together colleagues from across the sector, including school and college leaders, trust representatives, local authorities, mental health leads, SENCOs, and wellbeing staff, to share insight and good practice.

The workshop will focus on what helps create strong, effective partnerships between education settings and MHSTs. We welcome perspectives from settings currently working with an MHST, those that have done so previously, and those with limited or no experience of MHST engagement.  Settings can cover primary, secondary, specialist, independent, faith, pupil referral units and/or further education.

We hope you will be able to join us to share your views and help inform future thinking and potential solutions as we work towards supporting all education settings to access a MHST.  Following the workshop, we will also invite volunteers to take part in future focus groups to help shape any solutions identified through this learning.

A Microsoft Teams joining link will be shared with registered attendees in due course.
