Volunteering to Improve Experience in Humber and North Yorkshire
Join us on Microsoft Teams to hear about the work in Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership to improve the experience of patients and carers by volunteers.
This Lunch and Learn is for anyone with an interest in volunteering, promoting volunteering, youth volunteering and workforce development, and actions to improve the experience of care for patients and carers.
(Please note that the link for the session will be sent out the day before the Lunch and Learn. We recommend marking the event in your calendar using the function above)
Led by Susanna Glover – Strategic Volunteer Lead in the ICB – the session will explore why volunteers are a vital resource in supporting the delivery of health and social care across the system.
Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership has been awarded a grant as part of Volunteering for Health and in this session we will look at the benefits to the system that volunteers provide and also the opportunities and benefits to people who volunteer such as:
- Support to patients and carers throughout the transition from hospital to community
- Vital experience of the health and care environment to support career aspirations
- A chance to embed culture and values, including insights into the holistic needs of patients, and to influence the future workforce
Join us on the session to hear more about ways that action can be taken to support the implementation of volunteering and the relationship between volunteering and the experience of care
