Regional Primary Care Digital Transformation Conferences - November & December 2018

In November and December the Primary Care Digital Transformation (PCDT) team will be holding its second round of regional events. 

There will be three separate streams, plus the opportunity for one-to-one and specific topic-led discussions.

  1. Clinical education | Focussing on the clinical benefits and processes which can be derived from the implementation and use of new and emerging technologies in general practice for GPs, practice nurses, practice staff and patients.  The seminar will cover the evidence informing the development of digital technologies, and experiences of from GPs and nurses who are regularly using technology to support clinical care; this seminar will be run in the morning.
  2. Commissioning engagement | The new GPIT Operating Model is scheduled for publication in April 2019, run by the NHS England programme team, this session is interactive and designed to draw out the thoughts and opinions of the audience which will then be used to inform the final model; this session will be run in the morning.
  3. The digital future | With a significant proportion of the population regularly using smart phones, tablets and computers, the NHS is developing tools and resources to empower the person.  This session will provide an update on the new NHS App, NHS Login and the updated NHS.UK; this session will be run in the afternoonQuestions and answers | one-to-one and specific topic-led discussions.  Please indicate on the booking form any issues you wish to discuss; this session will be run in the afternoon.

The morning sessions will run from 10am to 1pm and the afternoon sessions from 13:45 to 15:30. Each session is standalone and you can choose to attend for the morning, afternoon or for the full day.  The events are located across the country, please feel free to attend whichever is the most convenient for you.

 Please note the clinical education session for the Birmingham event will be run as a formal session, with speakers from the RCGP and Dr Ruth Chambers

Clinical education | Focussing on the clinical benefits and processes which can be derived from the implementation and use of new and emerging technologies in general practice for GPs, practice nurses, practice staff and patients.  Speakers include Dr Ralph Sullivan from the RCGP, Dr Ruth Chambers who is the Clinical Chair for Stoke-on Trent CCG and Staffordshire STP’s clinical lead for technology enabled care services and digital workstream, plus other GPs and nurses who are regularly using technology to support clinical care.
