MOSS: Webinar for perinatal leadership teams

4 November 2025 2:00pm – 3:30pmGMT (+00:00)
Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

4 November 2025 2:00pm – 3:30pm

The Maternity Outcomes Signal System (MOSS) is a critical safety signal system being developed by NHS England in response to the first recommendation in the "Reading the Signals" report on East Kent. MOSS uses near real-time data to identify potential safety concerns in maternity services. It will monitor term stillbirths, neonatal deaths and brain injuries, prompting a rapid response. It is identified in the 10 Year Health Plan for England with the commitment that MOSS will be in place across trusts  from November 2025.

In readiness for the roll-out of MOSS, we are hosting a series of support webinars for NHS staff.

This webinar is for perinatal leadership teams, Trust Board Safety Champions, Maternity Improvement Advisors and Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships. It will introduce MOSS, demonstrate how it can be used, and talk through the required response from trusts and governance under the Perinatal Quality Oversight Model. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Please note, the link to join the session will be sent out via email by 5pm the day before the session.

We are also hosting a second webinar introducing MOSS to maternity teams on Monday 10th November from 10am-11.30am. To register visit MOSS: Webinar for maternity services | NHS England Events
