Delegate

We’re delighted to invite you to the East of England Diabetes Primary and Community Care Conference, taking place on Thursday 26th February 2026 at Chesterford Research Park, Saffron Walden.

This event has been jointly organised by the East of England Diabetes Clinical Network, Diabetes UK, and the Royal College of Nursing Diabetes Forum. It will focus on enhancing the delivery of care processes and improving diabetes foot care across the East of England. Key discussions will centre on uACR and foot checks within primary care settings.

The programme will be structured around the eight key care processes, with a particular emphasis on foot care and screening during the afternoon sessions.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided throughout the day.

Who should attend:

This conference is specifically aimed at healthcare professionals working in primary and community care settings who are directly involved in the delivery of diabetes care and screening. This includes nurses, healthcare practitioners, and healthcare assistants who support diabetes management.

Pleae note: this event is not intended for GPs, as the content is tailored to frontline staff delivering hands-on care.

Spaces are limited to 120 attendees, so early registration is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment.

Call for Abstracts:

We are inviting colleagues from across the region to share best practice and celebrate innovation in diabetes care by submitting abstracts in the following areas:

  • Clinical practice
  • Innovations in diabetes care
  • Audit
  • Research

Abstracts from the above healthcare disciplines are invited and should contain the following information:

  • Abstract/Project Title
  • Author/s
  • Organisation
  • Project Objective
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Conclusions/Summary

Whilst there is no template to follow, we ask that the abstract fit comfortably on an A3 poster, which will be printed on your behalf.

Three abstracts will be selected for oral presentation on the day of the conference (approximately 10–15 minutes each). These will be evaluated by an expert panel, and M&S vouchers will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The winning abstracts will also be submitted for publication in Diabetes Update, a healthcare professional journal.

If you prefer to submit a poster presentation only, please indicate this in your submission.
All submitted abstracts will be displayed at the conference, providing an opportunity for attendees to read about the work and network with the authors.

Abstracts should be submitted by the closing date of  Friday 30th January 2026.

On the Day:

We’ll also be inviting attendees to make pledges to improve diabetes care, with an incentivised prize draw taking place during the event.
