Reaching communities that need protection of vaccination to reduce MMR outbreaks

21 August 2025 13:00 – 13:45

This webinar explores how Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, implemented an MMR risk escalation initiative to reduce outbreak risk, following a local outbreak amongst people aged under 30 in inner city Bristol.

The team will share how 15 GP practices with the lowest MMR take-up rates, were supported to deliver interventions aimed at increasing vaccination among people aged 17 -30. This included community partnerships to improve health literacy as well as the accessibility of information and vaccination clinics.

Attendees will be invited to ask questions, as well as share information about what has worked for them to reduce the risk of outbreak.

This session will be of value to national, regional, and ICB staff working in vaccinations. While we invite everyone to apply for a free delegate place, please note that places will be prioritised for staff working in a vaccination role, (including those working in vaccine strategy, planning, delivery and promotion).

It follows recent work to summarise Demonstrator System activity and is one in a series of three webinars exploring local approaches that have supported improved vaccine uptake. You can find out more about the other two webinars, and register your interest here:
