Introduction
On 30 November 2017, NHS England launched a consultation on ‘Supporting Research in the NHS'
The consultation sets out proposals as to how NHS England, the Department of Health and Health Research Authority, working together, will implement changes to simplify NHS research proposals to:
- Manage excess treatment costs better
- Further improve commercial clinical research set-up and reporting
In support of the consultation, NHS England has arranged two listening events to ensure that all stakeholders are given a chance to provide their views.
Expression of interests - 15 January 2018 – Leeds (The Met Hotel)
We are now inviting expression of interests from our stakeholders, including patients (and their representatives), NHS staff, NHS organisations, researchers and research funders, and research sponsors, who want to attend the event(s).
The event consists of two sessions:
- Morning session - this will focus on managing excess treatment costs.
- Afternoon session - this will focus on further improve clinical research set-up and reporting section of the consultation.
Please see agenda for further details.
Stakeholders are invited to attend only one, or both, sessions, as relevant.
Please note that spaces are limited and therefore will be allocated to ensure an even representation of all stakeholders.
