IMTS2 Simulation Training

We are pleased to be able to share with you the dates of “SIM” sessions that have kindly been offered so far within the region to help support this.

IMTS2 Simulation FAQs

How do I book a SIM session?

• To book a SIM session, please visit the following link: IMTS2 Simulation Training | NHS England Events
• Ensure that study leave is also booked via Accent.

Is there a cost for the sessions?

• Funding for the sessions is provided through a study leave top slice, thus there is no initial cost to you. However, you must request study leave time and claim any incurred expenses through Accent.

Who are the sessions aimed at?

• These sessions are for Internal Medicine Training Stage 2 Doctors only from ST4 – ST7 within the Mersey and NW area. Please do not send the link to your IMTS1 core training colleagues

How many sessions can I book?

• SIM sessions are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  A total of 12 hours is required, with four of those hours to be completed during ST7.  Only 12 hours throughout your training will be funded

Please do not book more than one session.  Multiple session bookings will be automatically cancelled.

Can I attend the same centre as last year, or will the scenarios be the same?

• The scenarios are updated annually; therefore, you may attend the same centre.

Which centres are hosting SIM sessions?

• Sessions are hosted at the following hospitals: Aintree, Royal Liverpool, Burnley, Oldham, and Preston, and Wythenshawe.

What if I can’t attend on the day?

• Should you be unable to attend, it is essential to contact both the centre and Nicola Moffitt using the details provided on the website.

How do I cancel the session I’ve booked?

• To cancel your booking, please log in to the website, click on your name, navigate to event tickets, and select "cancel ticket." It is crucial to cancel in a timely manner so the slot can be offered to others.

What happens if I DNA?

• If you are marked as a DNA (Did Not Attend) without a mitigating reason, you will be prohibited from booking another session during that academic year. Your Educational Supervisor and Trust will be informed of your non-attendance.

Can I send the link to my friends in other areas?

• No, these sessions are exclusively for Resident Doctors in the NW and Mersey area. Please refrain from forwarding the link. Bookings from outside the area will be cancelled.

Do I get a certificate of attendance?

• Following the session, Nicola will provide you with a link to the feedback survey. Your feedback is invaluable for the enhancement of these sessions. Upon completion of the survey, you will receive a link to download your certificate.

Certificates will auto-delete after the survey closing date and will not be reissued. Please do not contact Nicola for a certificate after this date.
